Limitations and risks
Our insurance recommendations will be based on the information you provide us and will affect the extent of cover if not provided accurately. Any policy has a number of exclusions that you need to be aware of and recommend that the policy documents are read carefully by you.
Your Duty of disclosure
It is important that you understand all information you provide in support of the application for insurance and that it is correct, as you the insured will be bound by the answers and by the information you have provided. The duty of disclosure continues after the application for insurance has been completed.
Consequences of Non-Disclosure
If you the insured fails to comply with your duty of disclosure, the Insurer may be entitled, without prejudice to its other rights, to reduce its liability under the contract in respect of a claim or refuse to pay the entire claim. They may also have the right to avoid the contract from its beginning. This means the contract will be treated as if it never existed and no claims will be payable.
What not to Expect from Us
We are Financial Advisors authorised to provide financial advice on general insurance products. We do not provide advice on Life and Health Insurance, Investments, Kiwisaver, Medical Insurance or Mortgages, so you will need to consult a specialist if you would like advice on those products. We can refer a specialist to contact you if you require.
